What We Do

Where art meets big ideas...

  • "Are you the same person you were when you were 5 minutes old?"

  • "What's more important in art - truth or beauty?"

  • "What would it take for you to eat another human?"

Our after-school clubs, enrichment days, museum activities or corporate team-building days provide the opportunity for participants to develop skills in art and tackle some of life's big questions, as well as taking a good look at the places where those two things overlap.

Through a combination of discussion-based games and practical exercises in drawing, printmaking and sculpture, students learn through doing. There is a strong emphasis on independent thinking as well as listening and collaborating with the group. We strive for a symbiosis between philosophical thought and making, whereby one is constantly feeding the other.

So far, we've delved into the subjects of consciousness, the self, and questioned the nature of reality. We've created etchings in the Royal College of Art, drawn from the archive at the British Museum and made traditional Japanese woodblock prints at the Whitechapel Gallery.

Since 2013 Line Of Thought has worked with schools, museums and universities throughout the UK and internationally, including The Royal Drawing School, The British Museum, Rush Arts (New York), El Segundo Museum of Art (California), Otis College of Art & Design (California), The Sushant School of Design (New Delhi), The Royal College of Art, The Whitechapel Gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery, The National Gallery.

We also provide bespoke workshops in the corporate and charity sector. Get in touch via the Contact page to see what we can do for you.
